This very small profile portrait of John Wesley in ceramic is set within an oval mourning-style cameo.

Beneath a simple relief profile are the words “He rests from his labours!”.

The cameo has been mounted within a rectangular presentation frame.

A small plaque records “Given by Sir William Ashley Fellow 1885 – 1888).

On the reverse of the cameo the engraved brass mount reads: Rev John Wesley AM, died 2nd March 1791 aged 88.
