Cradle Roll at Christmas

1965

In the March 1965 edition of the Wesley Memorial Methodist Church, Eleanor Beard, the Cradle Roll Secretary writes:

Thirty three children under 4, with nearly twice as many parents, were invited to our Christmas Service this year. It was held in the afternoon of the Sunday before Christmas and about 20 children came with their parents. We had a short service during which 8 new members were received onto the Roll. It is rewarding to find that of the five children on the Roll who have reached the ages of 4 during the past year, four now attend Junior church.

After the service we all met over a cup of tea and the babies each received a Christmas present. Once more we felt new friendships had been made and we had been able to show something of the fellowship within the Church to some of our more isolated members.
