Charlbury is a small market town on the edge of the Cotswolds. The church was built in 1823, with a school extension added in 1844.

Charlbury Methodist Church is a Grade II listed building.

Within the front boundary wall there is ramped access to both the chapel and the school extension. An internal lift leads to the upper floor of the school room building.

The interior underwent minor modifications in 1973 but it retains most of its original fittings.
